RBB employs a number of different machine types throughout our facility and this video highlights one in particular–an automated coating machine for electronic assemblies and PCBs. Protective coatings are crucial for PCBs. They protect the circuit boards from things like moisture, dirt, dust, vibration, and other contaminants that would interfere with its functionality. Take a look at the machine in action! ## Watch the Video! ## Read the Transcript We’re testing out the motion right now for our coating machine, just going through the exercise, making sure everything is functioning before we would actually set up our coating of the boards. The types of boards we’re coating are usually going into an environment that may have some high-moisture or dirt; so the coating actually protects the circuitry from mold, moisture and even other contaminants that may cause things to short out.
